Disney World is quickly moving into an exhilarating time for the theme park as the 50th anniversary celebrations approach.

At Magic Kingdom, we have already seen many changes underway. Cinderella Castle has gained an EARidecent makeover with royal blue tones, regal pinks, and gold shimmers illuminating the castle. We also know that Main Street, U.S.A. will shine as well, much like Cinderella Castle!

The ticket and toll plaza to the park has been updated to reflect the new color scheme as well.

We recently discovered Mickey’s PhilharMagic would be getting an update for the anniversary to also include a scene showcasing the hit Pixar film, Coco. Now, many Guests may be wondering if any other attractions will receive a special 50th anniversary enhancement.

One of Magic Kingdom’s most classic attractions, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, is seemingly about to undergo construction. Disney has filed multiple permits for the attraction, which are meant to “Provide labor, material and/or electrical for construction.” Disney has not announced that the attraction would be receiving any changes; however, these permits prove that some work will be done to the attraction.

Considering how classic and iconic Dumbo the Flying Elephant is, it would be fun to see the attraction receive some temporary 50th anniversary touches. That being said, that is purely speculation, as the only confirmed information is that Disney has filed permits to do some work on the attraction.

Disney describes Dumbo the Flying Elephant as:

An “Ear”-born Adventure

Based on the 1941 Disney animated masterpiece Dumbo, this classic attraction lets you hop atop everybody’s favorite circus elephant as he discovers he can fly. Dumbo’s faithful friend Timothy Q. Mouse helps keeps you aloft with his “magic” feather.

As the jubilant organ melody begins, lift off for a graceful cruise around (and around and around) Storybook Circus.

Fly High or Stay Low

You can adjust your altitude during your flight, so you can soar high or swoop low.

Play While You Wait

Before your flight, step into the big-top tent and let your wild animals frolic in an air-conditioned children’s playground for all ages. You’ll be alerted when it’s time to board your flight!

We have also recently seen the signage for the attraction receive an upgrade, so it seems that Disney has been working on the attraction for quite some time now.

What Disney World attraction would you like to see updated for the 50th anniversary?
