This is Halloween. This is Halloween.
Halloween at Disneyland Resort is right around the corner, and we have some spooktacular news to share with you all! Not only will Oogie Boogie Bash return to Disney California Adventure, but Halloween Screams — the fan-favorite nighttime projection show — will also be returning to Disneyland Park!

Halloween Screams lit up Disneyland Park in 2019 for Guests, however, for 2020 the theme park could not host this boo-tiful show as both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure were closed from March 2020 through late April 2021 due to the ongoing pandemic. Even when the theme parks were able to reopen to the public a few months ago, safety measures were put in place so they could operate as safely as possible. This included continuing the temporary suspension of fireworks and nighttime spectaculars.
But as we continue to move forward, Disneyland has monitored and modified its operations at Downtown Disney, Disneyland Park, and Disney California Adventure as they slowly get back to “normal”. Just a few days ago, Disneyland Resort brought back fireworks for Guests to enjoy at the theme park for the first time in what seems like forever. And now, the most recent news has us shrieking with excitement!

Halloween Screams RETURNS to Disneyland

If you are a fan of Halloween and cannot wait for the spooky season to arrive, you are going to loved this. Guests will once again be able to see Halloween Screams at Disneyland Park beginning September 3, 2021!
That’s right — Disneyland Resort just shared today that Halloween Screams, a nighttime and special effects show, will return to Sleeping Beauty Castle. And on weekend nights, fireworks will also light up the night sky! Per the official announcement:
And every night from Sept. 3 – Oct. 31, in Walt Disney’s original park, guests will enjoy a dreadfully delightful treat in the form of “Halloween Screams”, a supernatural projection and special effects show. On weekend nights, “Halloween Screams” also will take to the skies and enhance the mischief with fireworks.* Guests will be able to view the spectacular from several different locations throughout the park, including Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle and near “it’s a small world.”
More on Halloween Screams

Disneyland describes Halloween Screams as:
Presented throughout Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort, this wicked display is a true Halloween treat for Guests of all ages.
Your nocturnal delight kicks off with an eerie greeting from your “Master of Scare-omonies” Jack Skellington and his ghostly dog Zero—spirits from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. As Jack and Zero fade into the night leaving you to enjoy what’s to come, settle in and embrace the jump-worthy collision of sights and sounds—soaring flames, projections of rising ghosts and classic Disney villains like Maleficent and Ursula the Sea Witch—all set to a medley of Halloween-inspired songs… one showstopper after another.
Finally, as you reach the grand finale, there’s no need to be shy. Feel free to sing—or scream―along! Plus, on select nights, you’ll also be able to watch sparkling fireworks possess the sky.

Over at Disneyland’s sister Resort, Walt Disney World, instead of hosting Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, a brand-new Disney After Hours event will be debuting at Magic Kingdom in 2021 called Disney After Hours Boo Bash! This new event will celebrate the spooky season as the theme parks continue to offer Guests magical experiences while navigating operations during the pandemic.
Disney After Hours BOO BASH will run select nights at Magic Kingdom from August 10 through Halloween night, October 31, 2021. For more information, visit our website here.
