For Guests who have visited both Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort in the past few months as both theme parks continue to operate amid the ongoing pandemic, things have certainly been different than they were before COVID-19.

To make sure that all Guests, Cast Members, and Team Members remain safe, both theme parks have similar protocols and reminders for their rules and regulations in place to ensure the safest theme park experience. These include face mask requirements and social distancing measures.

Both theme parks require Guests to wear a mask to wear when at the Parks, and queues are socially distanced to keep parties six feet apart from one another. As for reminders, whether you are at Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Islands of Adventure, or Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, lots of safety signage can be found at both parks, as well as heard during in-park announcements.

At Universal Orlando Resort, reminders about social distancing and mask wear can be heard while in line for any attraction, as well while entering Universal CityWalk. Typically, as Guests step out of the parking garage and onto the moving walkway into CityWalk, they have been hearing an audio message playing regarding the unprecedented times we are currently in, discussing health and safety, as we see on the posted signage as well.

Now, it seems that Universal has decided to remove that audio message. Thanks to Orlando Informer (@OrlandoInformer) we can confirm that the moving walkway is back to playing music only:

The audio message discussing the “unprecedented times” has been removed and CityWalk is back to playing only music as you walk in.

Universal’s other audio message reminders in their theme parks remain in place at this time, but it seems that the theme park property is slowly beginning to return to normal. Considering the moving walkway is the first thing Guests experience when visiting the theme parks at Universal Orlando Resort, the choice to play fun music helps to mold the day for Guests, putting them in a fun and exciting frame of mind, as opposed to a repetitive audio message that plays while Guests begin their Universal day.

That being said, Universal continues to prioritize health and safety, and even sanitizes every Guest before they board any attraction to help mitigate the spread of the virus and create a sanitary experience.

Since the publication of this article, the message has returned to the moving walkways leading into CityWalk. This is confirmed by the Orlando Informer who originally let fans know of the removal of the announcement, now they state that it is back:

Never mind, it’s back this morning.

Do you think removing the audio message as Guests enter is a big deal in terms of safety reminders? Or are in-park reminders enough?
