When Guests visit Disney World, they often plan what attractions they want to ride depending on which park they are visiting, but at times, those plans could go awry.

No matter which park you are visiting — whether it be Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Disney’s Animal Kingdom — there is always a chance that an attraction could break down. When a temporary closure occurs on an attraction, Guests can learn about the shutdown either by checking the My Disney Experience app or by walking up to the attraction, as Cast Members will be there to notify Guests.

When this happens, Disney does their best to get the attraction running as soon as possible; however, that can last from a few minutes to a few hours to a few days. It seems that a classic Disney World attraction is undergoing a temporary closure today at the Magic Kingdom.

WDW Stats (@WDWStats) reported that the Enchanted Tiki Room in Adventureland is currently closed, which matches the temporary closure notification in the My Disney Experience app.

Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room has been temporarily interrupted. On average, an interruption takes 150 minutes.

Although we do not currently know why the attraction had to close down, Guests who are looking to experience it should keep their eyes peeled on the My Disney Experience app, as that will be the first point of confirmation that the attraction is back up and running.

Disney describes the attraction as:

A Polynesian Paradise

Sing along with a lively menagerie of exotic birds, flowers and Tiki statues in this jubilant Disney classic. A feast for your eyes and ears, this theater-in-the-round show invites you to sit back, relax and experience the beauty of the South Pacific with a cast of over 225 choreographed Audio-Animatronics performers.

An Animation First

The Audio-Animatronics technology that powers the show’s performers was introduced to the world when Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room debuted in 1963 at Disneyland Park.

The groundbreaking technology allowed animators to synchronize movement, audio and visual effects, paving the way for other classic attractions like “it’s a small world,”Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion.

The Enchanted Tiki Room in Disneyland is an attraction created by Walt Disney himself, so although it does not have high-speed thrills, the history and story of the attraction are a must-do for Guests visiting the parks.
