It’s hard to believe, but EPCOT’s International Food & Wine Festival is just a couple of months away! The 2021 Food & Wine Festival is will return to EPCOT beginning July 15 — the same day it began in 2020 — and will run through November 20.
It seems that Disney is already prepping for its biggest festival of the year. Disney has filed 11 permits for kiosk construction at the theme park, including some specific permits for Merchandise kiosks.
The 2021 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival will be much like past theme park festivals Disney fans have come to know and love. Disney Parks Blog writes:
There will be lots of ways for families to enjoy this year’s event (beyond just eating lots of great food, of course):
- Sample all sorts of delicious cheeses served in fun ways as part of Emile’s Fromage Montage – if you collect a stamp from five different Global Marketplaces, you’ll earn a prize!
- Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak will send you on a savory scavenger hunt in search of Remy statuettes hidden all over the park.
- Take a tasty souvenir home from the new merchandise collections, including a festival collection featuring a spirit jersey, baseball cap and so much more.
- Listen to musical favorites performed by Voices of Liberty, Mariachi Cobre and the Jammin’ Chefs.
Last year, due to the pandemic, EPCOT had to change up its traditional Food & Wine Festival to follow health and safety protocols and created the “Taste of EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival”. This change also included the canceling of the ‘Eat to the Beat’ concert series that is held throughout the festival.
It is possible that Disney World is beginning this early prep work because Disney World will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year. This golden anniversary will begins on October 1. The anniversary celebration will be held throughout all four theme parks. At EPCOT, a new ride — Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure — will make its debut for the anniversary, but perhaps Guests visiting for the Food & Wine Festival will receive even more offerings to help them celebrate.
There is currently no official word from Disney about whether the popular “Eat to the Beat” concert series will return to the 2021 Food & Wine Festival. However, with the new changes to Disney’s health and safety protocols — including getting rid of temperature checks — things will constantly be evolving before July 15.
