Grand Floridian Will Convert More Rooms for DVC Members

Today, Disney announced that they would be converting 200 hotel rooms to Deluxe Studio Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa for Disney Vacation Club members. The new villas are expected to open sometime in 2022.

In a press release, Disney stated the following:

Located on the shores of Seven Seas Lagoon and on the monorail line to Magic Kingdom Park, the proposed project will transform Big Pine Key (building nine) at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa into approximately 200 Resort Studios, accommodating up to five Guests.

Featuring the Victorian elegance and charm of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, these new Villas will offer Members luxury accommodations and amenities, with some Villas boasting stunning views of Bay Lake and Magic Kingdom. Projected to open in summer 2022, these new Villas are an expansion of The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and will be a part of its current condominium association. Information regarding the start of sales and rental bookings will be released at a later date.

Disney Vacation Club has been around since 1991, and it allows members to buy “points”. With these points, Disney Vacation Club members can then book time at Disney locations throughout the world. Rooms cost different points based on their location and the time of year you are visiting.

On top of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, there are currently eleven hotels at the Walt Disney World that are a part of the Disney Vacation Club:

  • Wilderness Lodge
  • Animal Kingdom Lodge
  • Contemporary Resort
  • Beach Club
  • Boardwalk
  • Old Key West Resort
  • Polynesian Village
  • Riviera Resort
  • Saratoga Springs Resort

The Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has been home to Disney Vacation Club members since 2013 and offers a range of rooms, ranging from Deluxe Villas to a three-bedroom Grand Villa with a lake view.
