Disneyland Park in Anaheim is BACK! After the long-awaited reopening of Disneyland and California Adventure Park, many Disney Guests flooded the entrance yesterday in anticipation of riding their beloved Disney attractions.

Our team at Inside the Magic returned to our happy place inside Disneyland Park and took in all the magic while focusing on which Disney lines and attractions had the shortest wait times, and here’s what we found on our first day back.

Disneyland Attractions are BACK!

For more than 400 days, many Disney fans and California residents were on their edge of their seats awaiting the grand and prolonged reopening of Disneyland Park. As Disney Cast Members cheered and completed the countdown as they opened up the gates, Disney Guests quickly made their way to popular rides such as Millennium Falcon – Smugglers Run and the reimagined Snow White’s Enchanted Wish.

With Disneyland reopening at 25% capacity and to California residents only for the time being, we received an inside look at what crowd levels will look like for the Disneyland and California Adventure Parks.

We were pleasantly surprised to see Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge quieter than usual and that wait times for the Millennium Falcon ride was less than 20 minutes. Throughout the day, we were able to walk right on! Along with this popular attraction, many of the cherished rides that we missed so much were easy to get on and experience with hardly a wait at all, such as:

  • Mad Tea Party
  • Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride
  • “it’s a small world”
  • Roger Rabbit Car Toon Spin
  • Casey JR. Circus Train
  • King Arthur Carrousel
  • Dumbo The Flying Elephant
  • Mark Twain River Boat
  • Disneyland Railroad
  • Storybook land Canal Boats

Currently,  Disneyland rides The Jungle Cruise, Matterhorn Bobsleds, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, and Grizzly River Run in California Adventure are under refurbishments.

One of the wildest rides in the wilderness was also a breeze to get on and enjoy! Big Thunder Mountain Railroad located in Frontierland looked as gorgeous as ever, as Cast Members safely and efficiently worked to bring the magic back to all their Disney Guests. Just remember if any you folks are wearin’ hats or glasses, best remove’ em!

More on Disney attractions and lines

As for now,  Disneyland Guests can expect to wait a while in line for Haunted Mansion, Snow White’s Enchanted Wish, Indiana Jones Adventure, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean. However, throughout the day, we did not notice that any wait times were over 50 minutes, and the queues were extremely manageable as most lines only lasted 20 minutes or less.

Even though Snow White’s Enchanted Wish (previously known as Snow White’s Scary Adventure) line was stretched out from Fantasyland to The Sleeping Beauty Castle, do not be deceived as social distancing lines were set in place and many Guests only waited a short time of around 30 mins, on average.

We are happy to announce that lines to meet our beloved Princesses such as Rapunzel, Anna, and Elsa, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty were short and sweet. Being socially distanced from each other and Guests, they were ready to smile for the camera and shed some Disney magic to all who have missed them!

You can find all these Disney characters and more at the Royal Theater and throughout Fantasy Faire!

Don’t forget to say hello to Mickey and friends that are seen just in front of the Disneyland Railroad entrance on Main St U.S.A.
