Today has been a wild, wet, and stormy day at the Disney World theme parks! No matter if you are at Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, or EPCOT, the severe weather warning that is sweeping the state of Florida is affecting all of the Walt Disney World Resort.
Earlier, we reported that a majority of the outdoor attractions closed due to severe weather, as outdoor attractions cannot operate when lightning is close by, or when there are heavy winds or rain. However, we can now see that a variety of indoor attractions went down as well while the lightning was heavily striking, for what seems to be a loss of power.

Twitter account WDW Stats (@WdwStats) was actively reporting each of the closures. As you can see below it was not just the outdoor attractions that were closing. Below, we will share just a few of the many attractions that closed for around 90 minutes (some were closed for longer, and some a little shorter, depending on location) during what seems to have been a power outage at Walt Disney World Resort.
At this time, Disney has not confirmed if these temporary closures were due to a power outage, but because there was lightning in the area, and because many of these attractions were indoors (meaning Disney would not have closed them due to weather-related issues) a possible power outage could have been the cause.
