As you may already know, Jungle Cruise — the beloved attraction at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World — is set to bring in a brand new experience for Guests.
Elements of the popular theme park ride will soon be reimagined for Guests so they can enjoy a brand-new Jungle Cruise experience called Rivers Journey. These changes will be taking place at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland and will debut later this year!

The new version of the attraction is part of Disney’s effort to tell diverse, inclusive stories across the theme parks.
Disney Parks Blog shared that the company is “building on the story of the Jungle Cruise at both Disneyland park at Disneyland Resort and Magic Kingdom park at Walt Disney World Resort to include new adventures that stay true to the experience we know and love — more humor, wildlife and skipper heart — and also reflect and value the diversity of the world around us.”

And now, Disney Imagineer, Zach Riddley, has taken to Instagram to share that Disney World’s Jungle Cruise will, in fact, remain open to Guests as the reimagining work begins! The attraction will go through a phased reimagining process over the next several months as the Disney Parks teams slowly bring the new elements to life:
You may start to notice some monkey business along the river as work begins on Jungle Cruise at Magic Kingdom. The good news for all of you visiting @waltdisneyworld is the attraction will remain open to guests while our teams update scenes in a phased approach over the next several months.
We can’t wait to share the enhancements with our guests as we build on the story of the Jungle Cruise at both Magic Kingdom and Disneyland Park.
Riddley shared that the good news for Guests visiting Disney World is the attraction will remain open. At this time, there is no word if Disneyland’s version of the attraction will go through the same phased approach, but Inside the Magic will keep you updated as we get information.
