Thanks to the D23 Inside Disney Podcast, Disney fans can hear Disneyland President Ken Potrock’s thoughts on the Snow White ride refurbishment. He went into great detail and discussed why the reimagining of this dark, scary adventure ride was the right thing to do.
In the episode, Potrock explained how the idea to transform the attraction started:
“I had always heard that it was historically a scary ride. That seems sort of odd when you think about, you know, who the audience for that particular attraction is. You know, and it was a little bit dark, and a little bit ominous and we wanted it to be less scary. And so we got a group of Imagineers together to really help me craft the story so that it had the ability to have a happy ending. That it felt more joyous and festive, and I think we’ve done a really good job of it. I mean, you know, some of the things that we were able to do, like including actual footage from the film into the attraction. That was just new and a great new way to help tell a wonderful story.”
This just proves that a lot of thought, creativity, and magic went into creating Fantasyland’s Snow White’s Enchanted Wish! And, we cannot wait to experience this newly reimagined attraction ourselves when the theme park reopens.
