The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover seems to continue to have issues. The PeopleMover’s ongoing refurbishment has been extended yet again, much to the dismay of fans who have been waiting to ride the attraction for more than a year.
The PeopleMover was previously set to reopen to Guests at the Magic Kingdom on April 4, which is just a few days away! Now we can see from the My Disney Experience app that the attraction’s opening date has been pushed back again, and it is now set to reopen on May 1.
Here is what My Disney Experience lists for the PeopleMover on April 30 — still unavailable.
On May 1 it is no longer listed under attractions that are closed:
At this time, Disney has not shared an exact reason why the PeopleMover is still closed for refurbishment.
With each reopening of the PeopleMover being extended, we are crossing our fingers that this reopening date is successful!
We are hopeful that the Walt Disney World PeopleMover will not suffer the same fate as the Disneyland PeopleMover which has sat unused for years. Testing is often seen taking place at the PeopleMover and it is clear that all efforts are being made by Disney to get this attraction operational for Guests once more.
PeopleMover is not the only attraction in Tomorrowland that is being worked on! Tron Lightcycle / Run is a brand new roller coaster that is currently under construction in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom.
With such a big new attraction coming to Tomorrowland it would be so good to see the PeopleMover up and running, giving the land even more energy and movement.
