One question that has been on a lot of Disney World Guests’ minds is — When will the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover once again move the people?

The Tomorrowland Transit Authority located inside Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World has been closed ever since before the temporary park closure, which began in March 2020. Once the theme parks reopened in mid-July, Guests were hoping to see the PeopleMover open back up with the rest of the attractions. However, this wasn’t the case.
Initially, Inside the Magic reported that our team went through the next few months to find out when Disney plans on reopening the Magic Kingdom ride, which wasn’t until November 1, 2020. However, within a few weeks the refurbishment was extended to November 22.

Come October, this Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover refurbishment was extended again — and again — and now here we are, in 2021. Just this morning, we noticed that the reopening of the PeopleMover was once again pushed back — This time from a March 1, 2021 reopening to April 4, 2021.
However, despite updating the Walt Disney World refurbishment calendar, Magic Kingdom is continuing to test this Tomorrowland attraction. You can see in this video shared to Twitter from Rick, that the Tomorrowland attraction is currently running, just without people.

At this time, we do not know when this attraction will reopen to Guests. Even though the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover is not listed on the Disney World refurbishment calendar beginning on April 4, this is subject to change and could be delayed once again.
Inside the Magic will continue to update you as we get information.
