With the anticipated opening of All-Star Movies Resort in Walt Disney World today, and with many families taking advantage of traveling during Spring Break, many Guests are excited to begin their Walt Disney World vacation by boarding the Magical Express Transportation service at the Orlando International Airport (MCO).
Unfortunately with the combination of Spring Break, the opening of All-Star Movies Resort, and all four of the theme parks already at their limited capacity this week, it has caused Guests to wait in long lines — Even before getting to the parks!
If you have traveled to Disney World from Orlando International Airport before, you are more than likely familiar with Magical Express. Well, today, the lines for the transportation service are much longer than some may have hoped.
Inside the Magic was at Orlando International Airport this afternoon and when they approached the Magical Express, they found the line to be backed up all the way to the Alamo Car Rental desk.
After standing in line for several minutes, Inside the Magic heard a Cast Member tell Guests waiting for All-Star Movies that their estimated wait time is around two hours long.
The lines for Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney’s Riviera Resort, Art of Animation, and Pop Century, as well as the Boardwalk Resort, Yacht Club, and Beach Club line, all seem to be longer than usual, but not nearly as long as the line for All-Star Movies.
In fact, if Guests are not staying at All-Star Movies, they aren’t going to be waiting as long as it may seem. Disney Cast Members let Inside the Magic know that the All-Star Movies Resort line is the main cause for the hold-up. Our Inside the Magic team members, who were not traveling to All-Star Movies, only waited approximately 20-25 minutes to get to the check-in desk and then waited for another 20-minutes to board their bus — A total of 45-minutes!
Please keep in mind that current social distancing measures could be another reason why the line looked as long as they do. If you’re planning on visiting Walt Disney World this week and are looking forward to using the Magical Express bus, be prepared to be patient and plan accordingly to your Walt Disney World schedule.
Disney announced earlier this year that the complementary add-on of the Magical Express Transportation Service will end on January 1, 2022 and it is clear Guests are trying to utilize this free service as often as possible before it discontinues next year.
