Disney is doing some construction on The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Undersea Adventure at Disney California Adventure. The construction works comes after both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure have been closed since March 2020 and only just announced their official reopening date of April 30, 2021!

Disney has not made an announcement regarding the current construction on The Little Mermaid attraction at Disney California Adventure, so we assume that this is all maintenance work on the exterior of the building — some fresh paint can work wonders!

Without confirmation from Disney, we cannot be sure, and we also cannot see what is happening (if anything) on the inside of the attraction. We will have to see if any noticeable changes have been made at the end of next month when Guests can once again board the ride.

We were able to get some photos of the ongoing attraction work on the first day of Disneyland’s A Touch of Disney event at Disney California Adventure.

You can see the scaffolding on the exterior of The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Undersea Adventure is very extensive!

Again, while we cannot say for certain what the construction is for, it is exciting to see Disney seemingly getting the attraction ready for the reopening of the park!

Currently, for the A Touch of Disney event, no attractions are running. Attractions will not return to operation until the Disneyland theme parks officially reopen on April 30.

Remember, at that time, park capacity will be limited, park reservations will be required, and only California residents will be permitted entry to the theme parks at first.

If you can’t wait to go to Disneyland and you were not able to get a ticket for A Touch of Disney remember that Downtown Disney is currently open. Downtown Disney has certain restaurants and shops open for you to enjoy if you need your bit of Disney pixie dust before the parks officially reopen on April 30.

Are you excited to ride your favorite Disney California Adventure attraction when the park reopens? Let us know in the comments!
