Disneyland has officially announced its reopening! This is an exciting time for Disneyland fans, as the parks have remained closed since mid-March of last year. Right on the heels of the announcement that was made by Disney CEO Bob Capek that Disneyland will reopen on April 30, we also found out that Disney will be holding special previews of the reopening for Disneyland Resort Cast Members and select other individuals.

We were surprised and delighted to see that Disney will hold previews for Disneyland before the park reopens for Cast Members as well as members of the community. Here is the official announcement from Disney Parks Blog:

In the days leading up to the public opening on April 30, Disneyland Resort will invite cast members and members of the local community to be the first theme park guests after more than a year of closure

At this time, we have few details that elaborate on this announcement. However, it is likely that these previews will be free and encompass both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.

Also, there is no clarification on who “members of the community” will include. But, this news is extremely exciting for fans of Disneyland who live in the area! Previously we have seen the Mayor of Anaheim and other local and state officials visiting the parks, but it is unclear if members of the community will extend beyond those officials — we sure hope so!

No mention in the announcement of Disneyland’s Legacy Passholders. Legacy Passholders are of course previous Disneyland Annual Passholders who became Legacy Passholders after the Annual Passport program was ended at Disneyland amid the extended closure.

While Disneyland will not reopen until the end of the month the resort is currently running a special ticketed event called, A Touch of Disney. This event is being held at Disney California Adventure starting tomorrow, March 18, and run through April 19. Tickets to A Touch of Disney are sold out.

If you were not able to get a ticket for A Touch of Disney, you can still enjoy Downtown Disney, which is still open to the public with food and shopping.

It is so encouraging to see Disneyland set an official reopening date, and we are just as excited as you to get back to the parks!
