The iconic Walt Disney World Railroad, which gives Guests the grand circle tour of Magic Kingdom, has been closed ever since December 2018. This had to be done in order for Disney World to begin construction and make way for the upcoming TRON attraction, which will be located in Tomorrowland once complete.

At this time, Disney World still has not announced a reopening date for the Walt Disney World Railroad; however, after a recent visit to Magic Kingdom, we are seeing some signs that indicate this attraction will be up-to-date whenever it does reopen to Guests.

We can see that Disney World workers have been continuously working on the railroad tracks all around Magic Kingdom as the attraction remains closed — even adding in brand-new tracks near Big Thunder Mountain!

Additionally, Disney had begun work on the Main Street U.S.A. train station, which is currently covered in scaffolding (as seen in the photo below).

Again, please keep in mind that at this time Disney World still has not announced a reopening date for the Walt Disney World Railroad, but the current work being done seems to mean that they are moving in the right direction. Inside the Magic will continue to update you as we get information.
