It has been nearly a year since Disney Cruise Line has hosted any passengers on board for a cruise. As the pandemic decimated the cruise industry as a whole, Disney was not spared. Now, Disney has posted job listings for Disney Cruise Line, so what could this mean for the future of DCL?

The new job listings came earlier this month on the Disney Careers website and we can see that Disney Cruise Line is hiring for a variety of jobs.  As you know, Disney had to lay off tens of thousands of  Cast Members across the Disney Parks, Experiences and Products segment of the company in 2020. No word on if preference will be given to former Disney Cast Members for these positions.

Here are some of the jobs Disney is looking to fill for Disney Cruise Line.

What does this mean for the future of Disney Cruise Line? Hopefully, this means that Disney is gearing up to bring back cruises in the near future.

As COVID-19 cases begin to slow thanks to vaccine distribution, cruising could return sometime in 2021, as Disney has shown that even in pandemic-era times they are still ready to cruise safely. They recently released advertising depicting mask-wearing and social distancing onboard a Disney Cruise Line ship.

Only time will tell when Disney will begin cruising with paying passengers once again. Right now, the company continues to cancel cruises, but many 2021 itineraries for summer and beyond are still available to book, and 2022 itineraries recently became available, as well. We’ll report back when more information becomes available and when Disney announces when in 2021 they will resume sailing the high seas.
