Picture this: You are sitting in your elementary school science class. It’s a Friday. Just as you are getting ready to break out that dreaded science textbook, your teacher rolls in that giant TV and pops in an episode of Bill Nye the Science Guy, and now you get to spend class watching Bill!

Bill Nye has quite a reputation when it comes to Walt Disney World. From playing Jeopardy with Ellen DeGeneres on the now extinct Universe of Energy at EPCOT to voicing a section of the DINOSAUR queue in Animal Kingdom, almost every Disney World Guest has run into Bill in some way.

Now, it seems that Disney fan Seth LaFrance has taken the task of getting Bill Nye the Science Guy on Disney+. Seth stated in his Change.org petition that,

Back in the 90s, Bill Nye the Science Guy was Disney’s educational show filled with scientific humor. Humor that involves green screen effects, voiceovers, and commercial parodies. We, the people of today can hopefully experience that humor on Disney+.

Right now, the petition’s goal is to get 500 signatures, and it is already halfway there!

The Disney Wiki describes the show as the following:

Bill Nye the Science Guy is an American live-action half-hour program that originally aired from September 10, 1993, to June 20, 1998, hosted by Bill Nye and produced by Buena Vista Television. Each of the 100 episodes aims to teach a specific topic in science to a preteen audience. The show is frequently used in schools as an education medium.

Some may even be shocked to hear that Bill Nye the Science Guy won nineteen Emmy Awards during its run.

That being said, despite Disney’s association and ownership with the show, it has never aired on any network owned by Walt Disney Television in the US — such as Disney Channel and the American Broadcasting Company, known as simply ABC, which Disney did not acquire until 1996, three years after the show premiered.

There are, however, several Disney shows that have yet to make their way to Disney+, such as Cory in the House, but we are seeing the streaming service slowly integrate some more beloved titles. Roger and Hammerstein’s Cinderella starring Brandy and Whitney Houston was just added to Disney+.

Would you like to see Bill Nye the Science Guy added to Disney+?
