Universal stated,

Universal Studios Japan will hold its grand opening of the world’s first SUPER NINTENDO WORLD on FEBRUARY 4, 2021 – bringing to life a highly themed and immersive land featuring Nintendo’s legendary worlds, characters and adventures where guests will be able to play inside their favorite Nintendo games.

SUPER NINTENDO WORLD will make its debut as the first multi-level land at Universal Studios Japan where Peach’s Castle and Bowser’s Castle tower over the area. It will feature Mario Kart and Yoshi-themed rides and attractions, as well as restaurants, shops and other experiences that can only be found at Universal Studios Japan. It also provides guests with an all-new type of “Asobi” play experience where they will jump, punch ? Blocks and collect virtual coins. Guests can purchase a Power-Up Band in the land and sync it to their smartphones to keep track of their score and compete with other park guests. At Key Challenge attractions, guests can collect keys, gather character stamps and more using their entire bodies in dynamic activities throughout the land. Families and friends will unleash their passion to play in the new SUPER NINTENDO WORLD.

And after explaining all of this to us, they also provided an entire visual tour as well! Nintendo released a YouTube video giving us a full tour of Super Nintendo World in Universal Studios Japan, and it is jaw-dropping.

You know how Mario goes into a pipe and pops out in another location? Well, that’s exactly how you enter the land! And, for the first time, we get to dive into the pipe and see what is inside — something no Super Mario game has ever showcased.

You pop out in Princess Peach’s castle, and once you exit into the land, you are instantly transported into a Super Mario game. The colorful cartoon world is extremely detail-filled and lives up to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter level of immersion that we have previously seen Universal perfect.

You can also get Power-Up Bands! These fun and stylish wrist bands allow you to interact with Super Nintendo World as you go through, knock power-up blocks, and complete what looks to be mini-games as if you are playing a round of Mario Party. The bands connect with an app on your phone, and eventually allow you to battle Bowser, which means you are literally in a real-life Nintendo game, but you are “Player 1.”

Speaking of Mario Party, Kingopios Cafe is a food dining option in Super Nintendo World where Chef Toad pops up (almost giving us a pre-show) and looks just like we landed on an orb shop square in the game, with the food options appearing in front of us.
