Johnny Depp has been in the news a lot lately amid his ongoing battle with ex-wife, Amber Heard. In case you haven’t been following, the case has been quite serious as Heard accused Depp of domestic abuse, holding her hostage at one point.

Depp had originally filed the lawsuit against the UK Sun’s publisher, News Group Newspapers, and Sun executive editor Dan Wootton regarding a specific article in which cited that Depp acted on domestic abuse toward ex-wife Heard. Depp lost the libel case, which you can read more about here. Now Depp’s name is in the news once again, this time surrounding his role as Jack Sparrow in Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

A new Hollywood Reporter article now states that Depp was allegedly on ecstasy while shooting Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. While the film cast and crew were in Australia, Depp reportedly swallowed eight ecstasy pills at once. The article reads:

But Hollywood decision-makers may be less forgiving in light of the U.K. trial’s copious drug references — cocaine, alcohol, Xanax, Adderall, Roxicodone, magic mushrooms and ecstasy. Depp had been earning his $20 million-plus up-front paydays from the major studios, all owned by increasingly risk-averse and reputationally sensitive publicly traded media giants. And while shooting Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales in Australia, Depp swallowed eight ecstasy pills at once, according to testimony in the U.K. case, and embarked on a campaign of terror aimed at Heard. It culminated with the tip of his finger being sliced off, which resulted in his being flown back to Los Angeles for surgery. Pirates was forced to shut down production for two weeks, costing the studio some $350,000 a day. Depp claimed that Heard threw a bottle of alcohol at him, injuring his finger.
