On Twitter, thanks to the Orlando Informer, we saw that Revenge of the Mummy, Hogwarts Express, Jurassic Park River Adventure, Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge Rat Barges, and Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls will all be going down for refurbishment at the beginning of next year.

It appears that the refurbishments are not going to take too long, but be sure to double-check the dates before your trip so you know what will not be available when you visit!
The water rides are a no-brainer to undergo refurbishment during the winter months! However, that does put three major attractions at Islands of Adventure out of commission for a few months. With the modified capacity the parks are currently running, we will have to wait and see if this will have a negative effect.
If you want to experience the attractions before they undergo refurbishment, Universal is offering some INCREDIBLE new ticket discounts for Florida residents this holiday season. We have the breakdown of all the savings here.Â
As a reminder, refurbishments do not always mean big changes to your favorite attractions. Most of the time a refurbishment for an attraction is just for regular maintenance that helps the ride continue to run smoothly and efficiently.
