The event that only comes around this time of year is a fan favorite, and even though the Festival of the Holidays is heavily modified this year people still came out in droves to enjoy the festivities. Today is opening day — the day after Thanksgiving.

Some areas of the park felt quite crowded — especially as Guests lined up to experience Frozen Ever After in the Norway pavilion (with a line stretching all the way to the China pavilion) as well as the Mexico pavilion (with The Three Caballeros and La Cava del Tequila, this pavilion is in high demand).
But other areas of the park were more open, and some outdoor food kiosks were not in as high demand. From what we experienced, the pavilions themselves feel much more crowded than EPCOT’s spacious walkways.

Remember that Disney has announced that they are increasing their modified capacity limits at Walt Disney World to 35% from the original 25%. Seeing as how the holiday season is typically the busiest time of year for Walt Disney World we are not surprised to see heavy crowds!
Disney describes EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays as:
Discover a festival like no other, featuring the joyous holiday traditions of our 11 World Showcase nations. Taste of Epcot International Festival of the Holidays presented by AdventHealth surrounds you in the wondrous sights, sounds and flavors of the season, as celebrated by cultures near and far.
Come and delight in stirring live musical productions and savor seasonal food & beverage specialties at the expanded Holiday Kitchens.
Unfortunately, this year, due to the ongoing pandemic, we have seen that many traditional holiday staples have been cut resort-wide. This includes the hallmark of the International Festival of the Holidays, the Candlelight Processional. Still, despite the cancelation of the Candlelight Processional Guests appeared to be enjoying themselves with the offerings that were available!
