DTD Veteran's Day

It’s 11/11! Make a wish!

I wish for everyone to get excited about the magic of Disneyland Resort again and more Guests to enjoy all the things that The Happiest Place on Earth has to offer!

Well, wishes do come true because it’s certainly a busy day at the Downtown Disney District, as Guests are coming in to enjoy the holiday magic, and wait in anticipation of the reopening of Buena Vista Street next week.

But, of course, it isn’t just 11/11. It’s Veterans Day, which may be the reason that the crowd level is a little higher for a weekday. Though it’s definitely crowded with many social distancing protocols in place, if you’re headed to Downtown Disney today, you may find yourself waiting in a virtual queue just a little longer than normal. If you’re there today, go take a peek through the gates at the holiday decor on Main Street U.S.A. and Buena Vista Street.

World of Disney

While it’s still early in the day, lots of Guests have headed straight for the World of Disney queue which hasn’t implemented the virtual queue for the day yet. The stand-by line runs all the way toward the tram loading area which is considerably long for being socially distanced. Maybe they’re in line to snag one of the festive Disneyland holiday spirit jerseys or to purchase a toy to donate for Toys for Tots!

Disney Home

It’s not the holidays without holiday decorations at home. So what better way than to head to Disney Home to see what kind of Disney holiday touch you can add to your humble abode? With just 23 parties ahead of her in the virtual queue, Inside the Magic Reporter Bailee Abell was able to head in to check out all the holiday merchandise in just an hour!

Marceline’s Confectionary

Inside the Magic Reporter Bailee Abell joined the virtual queue for Marceline’s Confectionary before 11 am and at 12 pm she is still waiting to be called back to grab one of those festive holiday treats. Minnie Mouse Rice Krispy Treat anyone? It seems like a lot of Guests are out to satisfy their sweet tooth as 73 parties were already ahead of her before 11 am! We completely understand those cravings, though!

The Guests are Still Coming!

With it being a holiday and a beautiful sunshiney day in Orange County, many Guests are having the same idea to spend it outside walking around the outdoor promenade of Downtown Disney! The security line wraps around through the Disneyland Hotel and Grand Californian Resort and Spa parking lot (Villas to be open by Christmas!) This afternoon could be as busy as Downtown Disney’s weekend crowd levels.

If you’re still trying to decide if today is a good day to head down for some magic, please plan accordingly. There are many Guests still waiting to get into Downtown Disney. Remember that Downtown Disney will also temporarily shut down parking when it gets busier.

Meanwhile, the rest of us here at Inside the Magic will continue to wish and hope that all who are trying to come to this happy place get some semblance of a Disney day and enough Disney magic to keep them going.

If you are craving your next Disney vacation, our friends at Academy Travel are standing by ready to help you make it as magical as possible.
