The Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, continues to churn out as much magic as it possibly can.
Despite the present circumstances with continued closures and layoffs, we at Inside the Magic have learned that the annual Toys for Tots Christmas toy drive has once again returned to the Downtown Disney District.
Donation boxes are posted outside World of Disney with signs saying:
“Disney will donate $1 to Toys for Tots (toysfortots.org) for every new, unwrapped toy donated at a World of Disney in the U.S. or online through shopDisney.com from Nov. 1 – Dec. 13, 2020.”
But this magical mission goes beyond the theme parks. While Guests can donate in person by visiting the World of Disney stores at Disneyland or Disney World, or any U.S. Disney store, shopDisney also has an entire webpage dedicated to Toys for Tots which includes an option to help you streamline the donation process by suggesting Disney toys to donate.
shopDisney has also released a special collector’s pin featuring a gingerbread Mickey and Minnie, saying:
“Now through December 24, 2020, Disney will donate $1 to Toys for Tots (toysfortots.org) for every Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse Gingerbread pin purchased at a U.S. Disney Store or on shopDisney.com.”
For over 70 years Disney has supported the United States Marine Corps. Foundation at both Disneyland and Disney World Resorts. In fact, it was Walt Disney and his team that designed the first Toys for Tots poster and introduced the world to the now-famous Toys for Tots train logo. But this is the third consecutive year that shopDisney and the Disney Store have teamed up with Toys for Tots to help those kids in need.
Since the original publication of this article, Disney Parks Blog has released a statement calling all Disney fans to help spread the magic this holiday season and give back with Toys for Tots.
A big part of the holidays are about giving back and we are thrilled that shopDisney.com and Disney store are teaming up with Toys for Tots for the third year in a row to help bring joy to children in underserved communities this holiday season.
This year, we have a little help from actor and self-proclaimed Disney super-fan Neil Patrick Harris to kick off the initiative and spread the word that from now through December 13, 2020, you can donate a toy online at shopDisney.com/ToysForTots, or a new, unwrapped toy at any Disney store in the U.S. or World of Disney at Disney Springs and the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort World of Disney, and Disney will donate an additional $1 to Toys for Tots.
In addition to donating a new, unwrapped toy, guests can support Toys for Tots by purchasing a Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse Gingerbread pin. Disney will donate $1 to Toys for Tots (toysfortots.org) for every Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse Gingerbread pin purchased at a U.S. Disney store or on shopDisney.com from Nov. 1 – Dec. 24, 2020.
As the magic of the holidays arrives, you can also celebrate at Disney Parks around the globe. Among the many discoveries, guests will find enchanting experiences, delectable dining options and merry-making merchandise that welcome new and returning favorites to the season.
Bring the Disney Parks magic of the season home with new holiday-themed merchandise available throughout Walt Disney World Resort, as well as the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort in California and online at shopDisney.com.

This written statement was shared with a very special video message from Neil Patrick Harris which you can watch below:
Last year at Walt Disney World alone, Cast Members donated over 30,000 toys. While spirits and situations are much different this time of year, this writer is certain that Toys for Tots and its kids will still be blessed with truckloads of Disney Magic this holiday season.
Do you plan to donate or volunteer with Toys for Tots this holiday season? Tell us about it in the comments!
