New permits have been filed for the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disney Springs! Could this mean that the children’s makeover salon will reopen soon? Let’s talk about it!
You can view the new full work permit here.
While the permit is only calling for general construction, it could — at least theoretically — be for the addition of plexiglass to the salon, which would aid in the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique reopening amid the pandemic. While that is purely our own speculation, we have seen plexiglass get added to many locations around Walt Disney World, so we would not be surprised to see that strategy implemented again.
You can see examples of plexiglass being added all around the resort. In Galaxy’s Edge inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios plexiglass dividers have been added to eating spaces, and attractions.
All three of the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique locations at Walt Disney World have remained closed since the Resort’s phased reopening began in July. Again, this work permit was only filed for the Disney Springs location, not the Magic Kingdom or Grand Floridian hotel locations. We will continue to monitor the situation and give updates if the other locations also receive work permits.
Disney describes the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique as:
With the wave of a magic wand—plus a few hands-on tricks of the trade—our Fairy Godmothers-in-Training will pamper and primp your child until they look storybook stunning. Children can choose a hairstyle then add makeup, nail color and accessories—even a Disney Princess costume.
Share the fun as your little one enjoys a resplendently royal head-to-toe transformation!
