Walt Disney World Resort’s Halloween celebration this year isn’t exactly the same as it usually is, due in large part to the cancelation of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

Guests aren’t letting this put a damper on the spirit of the season, though! This year, we’ve seen some amazingly magical kids’ costumes at Magic Kingdom and beyond.

Disney officials altered WDW’s costume rules this year, making it easier for parents to create impressive costumes for their little ones. Now, only Guests aged 14 and older are subject to this Disney World costume guideline:

Layered costumes or costume props that surround the entire body are strongly discouraged and may be subject to additional security screening.

Here, we take a look at some of our favorite kids’ costumes so far this year.

Monorail and Skyliner Costumes

“Let’s go dress like Disney transportation and run around Magic Kingdom” ? ? About two months ago I asked big guy, “what do you want to be for Halloween?” My precious sweet two-year-old looks me dead in the eye and says: “monorail.” Then he hesitated before coming back and saying “no, mommy. GREEN monorail.” For the last month and a half I continued asking him to make sure the answer stayed the same. He never wanted to be anything else. Thank goodness I have an incredibly artistic sister and a best friend who gives some great cardboard advice. When @4thstartotheright heard our plans, it was the perfect opportunity for Donald to get his Skyliner costume out from the last year and let our two Disney loving kiddos have some fun! So here’s our big question for today. Which do you prefer, monorail or skyliner?
