Disney Cruise Line Blog shared a detailed look into the restructuring of the staterooms that will be happening over the next couple of years.
Before we jump into the details, let’s take a look at what Disney said regarding the changes. We reported previously that the Disney Cruise Line is getting ready to shake things up in their staterooms as they are adding new ships to their fleet (with the Disney Wish being the first). Here’s what Disney officially announced:
Beginning in 2022, Disney Cruise Line will be updating existing stateroom categories to provide greater consistency across the fleet.
We are eliminating some categories and modifying the concierge categories in an effort to make things more intuitive for our guests. Not all stateroom categories are changing, and the number of staterooms and cabin numbers will remain the same for all ships.
These changes will not go into effect until 2022. For sailings in 2020 and 2021, we will continue to sell the current stateroom categories.
With that being said, what rooms are going to be a part of this change? Apparently, a lot of them. The information included below is from the Disney Cruise Line Blog and not a formal announcement from Disney, but it certainly gives a good idea of what to look forward to.
Below is the information that Disney Cruise Line found when looking at 2022 prices and itineraries. Note that the stateroom categories are changing for the rooms on each ship, so keep this in mind when booking.
2022 Disney Magic Stateroom Category Changes
For the Disney Magic, the reclassifications are limited to the Concierge staterooms as follows:
- Concierge Royal Suite with Verandah | Category R to Category 1A
- Concierge 2-Bedroom Suite with Verandah | Category S to Category 1B
- Concierge 1-Bedroom Suite with Verandah / – Accessible | Category T to Category 2A or Category 2B
- Concierge Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah | Category V to Category 3A
2022 Disney Wonder Stateroom Category Changes
For the Disney Wonder, the reclassifications are limited to the Concierge staterooms as follows:
- Concierge Royal Suite with Verandah | Category R to Category 1A
- Concierge 2-Bedroom Suite with Verandah | Category S to Category 1B
- Concierge 1-Bedroom Suite with Verandah / – Accessible | Category T to Category 2A or Category 2B
- Concierge Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah | Category V to Category 3A
