Recently, Disney announced that characters will be returning to Chef Mickey’s restaurant at the Disney’s Contemporary Resort on December 16. Since Disney World’s phased reopening began in July, the popular dining establishment has been serving family-style meals without any characters present.

Disney Parks Blog shared these details about Mickey, Minnie, and their friends’ upcoming return:
When Mickey and friends return, the experience may look a little different than the last time you visited, but you can still expect to smile, wave and make unforgettable memories with some of your favorite characters as they parade through the restaurant in their chef’s best.
Reservations for Chef Mickey’s character breakfast will open on October 17, based on availability. In addition, Disney Resort hotel guests can make reservations up to 60 days in advance plus the length of their stay (up to 10 days). For more information, please click here.

From this official announcement, character dining fans can deduce that their favorite Disney characters will be parading around Chef Mickey’s at a safe social distance (similar to how the characters meet at Topolino’s Terrace, at Minnie’s Halloween Dine at Hollywood and Vine and at Garden Grill in EPCOT) — but, could there also be other fun character interactions added to Chef Mickey’s this holiday season?
Twitter user @sabrina_chow recently shared these photos from Hong Kong Disneyland:

Here, Chef Mickey is actually hard at work in the kitchen behind a glass barrier designed to protect both Guests and Cast Members. This is the perfect way for Disney Parks Guests to enjoy a unique character interaction while keeping health and safety in mind.
We certainly hope something like this is added to Disney World’s Chef Mickey’s experience!
