Disney’s Animal Kingdom has an exciting announcement! One of the rhinos at the park gave birth to a beautiful baby boy white rhino. Within the first hour of being born, the baby rhino (yet to be named) was nursing and walking around. Here’s a picture of the two together:
The two will be backstage for a few weeks, but the plan is that they will both eventually join the rest of the animals in full view of Guests riding Kilimanjaro Safaris.
More good news as it was announced that two other rhinos in the park are also expecting. Jao is due in the fall of 2021 and Lola a little later in 2021. Exciting news given the white rhino is classified as a ‘Near Threatened’ species. Disney not only follows a carefully prepared species survival plan and the Animal Care Team is extremely mindful of responsible breeding.
If you’ve been watching the Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom on Disney+ you will know how much work Disney does to help animals, particularly those that are endangered species and doing everything they can to help through the Disney Conservation Fund.
We would like to remind you that you can donate to the Disney Conservation Fun when you are in Walt Disney World on your vacation, either in Disney’s Animal Kingdom or at the Animal Kingdom Lodge resort hotel. Disney matches every cent given. We find the easiest way to donate is to round your purchase up when in the parks buying something in a store.
