As we previously pointed out just last weekend, Disney had posted the shortened hours for the parks at Walt Disney World through November 14, 2020.

And today, Disney just posted the hours for the parks through November 21, 2020; which not only remain shortened, but also still no word on any Christmas Parties or any holiday festivals.

From what we can see on Disney’s official calendar, the hours of the parks are being shortened after Labor Day Weekend. The hours are changing to these following times:

  • Magic Kingdom – 9 am to 6 pm
  • EPCOT – 11 am to 7 pm
  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios – 10 am to 7 pm
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom – 9 am to 5 pm

But what about Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party? Once again, we do not have any updates to report on whether or not this event can or will take place this year. Note that Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has already been canceled.

The Disney Parks Blog recently released a statement regarding the popular holiday event, saying:

Looking ahead to the holiday season, this may spark questions about Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, which includes the Candlelight Processional. We are monitoring our new environment closely, and will make a decision on these events as we continue to learn more from government and health officials. As always, our goal is to explore every option and look at ways in which we can still host events and festivals full of Disney magic, while still operating responsibly with the health and safety of our guests and cast members in mind.

On Disney’s official website for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, it currently states:

Reservations Are Currently Unavailable
At this time, reservations for this experience are not available. Learn more about reservations during the phased reopening of Walt Disney World Resort.

Disney also stated within their Special Events Page that:

Updates to Events, Tours and Other Experiences

At Walt Disney World Resort, we’ve taken a measured and deliberate approach to our planning that applies appropriate new health and safety measures. We continue to follow guidance from government and health officials for responsibly operating our theme parks, so we can make the right adjustments to our offerings.

During the initial reopening period, some special events, tours and other experiences may be modified, limited in capacity or unavailable in order to promote physical distancing.

Please check this page often, as details may change.

Even though Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party could possibly get canceled just like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, there could still be the magic of the Holidays brought to the park with the magical decorations! The park is going to be decorated with the Halloween decor beginning on Sept. 15, 2020 so it is possible Disney would also still put up the beautiful Christmas decorations that make a Disney World Christmas that more magical.
