Exciting times for fans of Nintendo as Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan is nearing completion. A new video from those close to the Japanese park showcases just how incredible the new land looks.

Check it out below:

In the video, you can see just how close to completion the land is as well as some brand new features that we haven’t seen before, chiefly smoke coming from the Thwomp. The Mushroom Kingdom never looked so good! The land was originally supposed to open in time for the Tokyo Olympics but the pandemic put a stop to construction on the Super Nintendo World area, pushing the opening back.

There’s also an entire section that shows just how awesome the new land is going to look at night:

If there’s one thing we’re really sad about when it came to the announcement that Epic Universe was getting delayed in Orlando, it was that Super Nintendo World wouldn’t be coming to Orlando anytime soon.

A reminder that Super Nintendo World is set to open later this year in Universal Studios Japan and then 2021 or 2022 in Universal Studios Hollywood. No word from the Universal team on when the land is going to be arriving in Orlando but we’d expect Nintendo to go into either Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure and not Epic Universe based on the park being delayed.

Super Nintendo World is likely to be incredible when it opens and with the leaked Mario Kart ride images we reported back in August, Universal could have an area as popular as the Wizarding World of Harry Potter on their hands! We can’t wait to see what Mario, Princess Peach, Luigi, Bowser and the rest of the gang have in store for us when the land opens!
