More Solar Panels Installed at 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Attraction - Inside the Magic

The EPCOT park at the Walt Disney World Resort is going through major updates that include new attractions for guest to enjoy! One of the newest attractions coming to the park is inspired by Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy film franchise.

Construction on the highly anticipated attraction came to a halt when the resort close due to the ongoing pandemic. However, developments picked back up when the park reopened on to guests on July 15th. Now construction is progressing quite nicely on the Cosmic Rewind attraction.

In late July, solar panel mounts were installed to the roofing of the attraction’s exterior. We’ve recently learned that the panels were fitted and installed to these mounts. This is great news, because it comes as a means of conserving energy by using solar panels.

This is just one of EPCOT’s many transformation projects. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind coaster has taken the place of Ellen’s Energy Adventure attraction. The Guardians attraction will also be in a newly renovated location. This location will now be known as World Discovery, which seems quite appropriate for the Guardians of the Galaxy gang. Cosmic Rewind hasn’t been given an official opening date. However, due to the setback in construction due to the park’s closure, we think it’s sage to say that this attraction will not open until the year 2021.
