This morning, just a few minutes after Disney’s Hollywood Studios opened, reports of a massive line at Guest Services began showing up on Twitter.
It seems that Rise of the Resistance in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has suffered yet another problem today. As per social media posts from current Disney World Guests, the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance section of the My Disney Experience app was not assigning boarding group numbers the way it should have this morning.
Many Guests were unable to join Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance boarding groups because the Walt Disney World app was not registering that they were inside the theme park.
As @AggieKiddDoc wrote:
When every group around you got the same “you’re not in the park error” while having been in the park more than 30 minutes, you wonder what #WDW did with the time during the shut down to make sure #RiseOfTheResistance might someday actually work.

@JediTalkPodcast shared additional details about the developing situation, including a photo of one of the massive Guest Experience Team lines. Due to the length of the line and number of Guests waiting for assistance, there are no markers on the ground to encourage those waiting to stand at least six feet apart from each other, causing far less social distancing.
The Tweet reads:
Rise of the Resistance had a MASSIVE error this morning where it wasn’t showing that’s your group was in the park. This is one of the two Guest Experience Team lines

@MCMarkyMarkYT posted a screenshot of the actual error that Galaxy’s Edge Guests were receiving this morning when they attempted to register for their Rise of the Resistance boarding groups:
Thanks James from Disney Hollywood Studios for not helping me and telling me to stand in line to guest services for not being in the park to join Rise of the Resistance boarding group. How am I not in the park, yet I am in the park?

Since Walt Disney World Resort began its phased reopening in July, the immensely popular Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance attraction has had its share of problems. The ride was even down after Galaxy’s Edge was struck by lightning.
What are your thoughts on this latest Rise of the Resistance boarding group issue? Were you at Disney’s Hollywood Studios this morning when the My Disney Experience app error occurred?
