Disney's 'Star Wars' Hotel

Star Wars fans have been anxiously awaiting the opening of the upcoming Walt Disney World Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel since the project was announced at the 2017 D23 Expo in Anaheim.

The new Star Wars hotel, which is set to open for Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration in 2021, has seen some major construction progress recently.

Today, Twitter user @bioreconstruct shared multiple images of the new Star Wars hotel site.

The first set of photos shows the full Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser property, including the road where Guests will presumably be dropped-off to “board” the Halcyon starship for their interstellar journey through the Galaxy.

The next photo shows some relatively close-up construction work, including what appears to be an outdoor balcony area for starship travelers. @bioreconstruct included the following information about the immersive Star Wars experience Guests can expect:

Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser (hotel) will have 2 day cruises, with shore excursions to Batuu (Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge). It’s unclear how the ship tenders or shuttle flights will work. Aerial look at likely location of the transfer.

A third photo gives viewers a clear look at the multi-level scaffolding that is currently set-up on the exterior of the real-life Star Wars starship structure.

@bioreconstruct also shared additional details about this image:

Aerial look at scaffolding under the Porte Cochère of Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser (hotel). Guests will see only the right side of the wall. Trees at left of the wall will block view of the show building. Upon check-in guests will transfer up, and into the Star Wars timeline.
These two Walt Disney World Resort construction progress photos give Star Wars fans a good idea of how the new hotel will be set-up inside. @bioreconstruct explained the layout:
Aerial looks at the show building that houses the decks aboard Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser. Guest cabins aboard the ship are in back. Guest check in is in front, and there’s a themed transfer up to the ship.
Finally, in this social media post, even more details are given about how Guests will navigate the Galactic Starcruiser once they are onboard. Disney has not yet released any photographs of interior spaces, although there are several artist renderings like the one below.
