According to the Harry Potter books and films, September 1 was an extraordinary day for the greatest wizard of all, Harry Potter. It was his first day at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The Wizarding World commemorated September 1 as Back to Hogwarts day, and every year Harry Potter fans gather at London’s Kings Cross Station to mark the Hogwarts Express’ departure from Platform Nine and Three-Quarters.
However, this year, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter announced that the Back to Hogwarts event would go digital instead of following the in-person traditions.
In celebration to this day, Harry Potter fans–wizards, witches, and muggles alike–have shared their celebrations online with the hashtag #BacktoHorgwarts.
