Grand Floridian Is Now Open! Is It Still Worth the Price?

in Walt Disney World

The NBA was previously calling this Walt Disney World Resort home, and now it’s back open for guests! Here is what you can anticipate during your stay at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

The resort may be open but as we know that doesn’t mean all of its amenities will be available. Due to the coronavirus many operational changes have been made around Disney’s Grand Floridian, lets take a look at the available offerings.

What is Open?

Not much, but enough. While the Grand Floridian will offer you a room, the dining and entertainment you may be used to from previous stays has been greatly reduced. For dining options the delicious Grand Floridian Cafe, Narcoossee’s, The Enchanted Rose, and Gasparilla Island Grill are still serving guests. The pools and pool bars are also accessible at this time as stated on their website.

We are pleased to see that Basin White has reopened to guests, here is what they had to say on Instagram,

The caption reads:

We’re open! ✨ Basin White at the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is open as of today! Our new operating hours are 9 am – 9 pm and we will be implementing safety measures in coordination with the resort to keep our employees and guests safe and healthy.
You can visit us with a hotel or dining reservation. If you can’t visit soon, @basinfresh at Disney Springs and basin.com remain fully operational.
We can’t wait to see you! It’s been too long. 👋

What is not available?

Here are some experiences you wont find on your next visit:

The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

The Grand Floridian Society Orchestra, and the Lobby Pianist

The Garden View Tea Room, as well as Citricos and Victoria & Alberts.

In addition, the Senses Spa is listed as not currently accepting reservations on the official Disney website.

Why You Should Still Choose the Grand Floridian

We still believe the charm and beauty of the Grand Floridian is worth the stay, even with modified offerings! A walkway is currently being constructed which will make it even easier to access Magic Kingdom. The monorail service is extremely convenient for guests staying at The Grand Floridian. The grounds of the resort are gorgeous, and its a quick walk or monorail ride to more dining options over at Disney’s Polynesian Resort. There are plenty of reasons to consider staying at this beloved resort now that its back open to the public!
