As we shared last month, Disney’s Grand Floridian & Spa is in the process of getting an extra touch of magic with an all-new walkway that will allow guests to walk directly from the deluxe hotel to Magic Kingdom. And from these new construction images, it seems the walkway is well underway.
From these new images shared by @Bioreconstruct, it’s obvious that the resort is hard at work to get this construction completed as soon as possible. The permit for the pathway was filed July 5th and only a month later is construction beginning.

From these images, it’s clear that there is still a way to go as the area was only cleared so far. However, it seems all the required materials have been gathered, as pictured in the images above.

It’s hard to tell what exactly the structure will look like from these materials to compare it to other bridges and walkways seen around the Walt Disney World Resort. Although, from what we can tell, it appears the structure will be a simple build.
Transportation to and from the magical park can sometimes be met with challenges. Specifically, if you’re looking to leave Magic Kingdom after the evening’s fireworks show or if you’re attempting to get to the park’s turnstiles before rope drop. Both of these times can be met with high foot traffic, causing for delayed transport times to and from Magic Kingdom, the other resorts found along the path of the resort monorail and to the Transportation and Ticket Center.
When this new walkway is completed, an entire population of guests staying at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa can be eliminated from all of this traffic. Which could make for smoother transportation for other guests staying at the other resorts found around Walt Disney World.
