With the reopening of Disney World came several changes including the requirement of wearing a face mask at any Disney theme park, social distancing measures put in place in all locations, plexiglass put up in several areas of the park, limited capacity and more.

One of the things that Guests were sad to see temporarily suspended was the nighttime shows including the fan favorite nighttime spectacular, Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom theme park. However, what we find very interesting is that Walt Disney World has filed a permit which is related to fireworks!

The permit’s location is listed at 1440 Floridian Way, which if you weren’t aware, is where the fireworks launch point is for Magic Kingdom’s nightly spectaculars, including Happily Ever After.

Though we don’t know too much about the permit or why Disney World filed it, we can see the description of the permit which reads “MK Project Nugget F-B Electrical”.

Again, we aren’t sure why Disney filed this permit as Happily Ever After Fireworks is currently suspended due to the pandemic. However, fireworks recently restarted at Shanghai Disneyland, so it’s possible Disney could be looking to restart them at Magic Kingdom, too, though nothing has been announced. It is also possible the Disney Resort is looking ahead to its 50th celebration, which will take place next year.

If you never got to experience the nighttime fireworks show at Magic Kingdom theme park, the official description from Disney World reads:

Go on a dazzling journey of color, light and song that captures the heart, humor and heroism of many favorite Disney animated films.

Watch in awe as Cinderella Castle becomes part of the story by magically transforming through amazing state-of-the art projection technology that you have to see to believe.

This astounding 18-minute fireworks extravaganza uses more lights, lasers and special effects than any other fireworks spectacular in the history of Magic Kingdom park, plus a soaring score featuring contemporary versions of beloved Disney songs.

Discover the magic of movies—and be inspired to find your own happily ever after.

If you don’t have a current Disney World vacation and are missing these nighttime fireworks shows, Disney recently released videos of the fireworks spectaculars as part of their Disney Magic Moments segment. You can also watch a video of Happily Ever After on our YouTube page here:
