Downtown Disney reopened on July 9, signalling the beginning of the phased reopening of Disneyland Resort, the Happiest Place on Earth. While a reopening date for Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, and the three onsite hotels hasn’t been announced yet, that doesn’t mean Cast Members aren’t preparing to bring back the magic.

Disney Parks Blog has kept us updated on the latest happenings for Cast Members at Disney Parks all around the world. The Disneyland Cast and Community page recently shared the story of a sweet proposal that took place at World of Disney at Downtown Disney, which you can read all about here. Now, we’re sharing more about what CMs have been up to at Disneyland.

In the post, Disneyland Resort Chef Adrian reflected on what it has been like to return to work. “We’re really relying on each other more,” he said of himself and his fellow Cast Members.

The past few months have looked different for many cast members working in the park, but as Chef Adrian said, there has been new learnings as they adapt to a new way of working. “It’s been great. We have a lot more lines of communication; we’re really relying on each other more.” Thank you Adrian and all cast members who continue to maintain the magic.

Additionally, Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock took to his own Instagram page to share his experience visiting Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. Though the hotel has not reopened to Guests yet, Cast Members have returned. Among those is Cassandra, a CM who was on the opening team for the Grand Californian back when it opened almost two decades ago. “We both agree it will be a ‘grand’ day when we’re able to welcome back guests to this amazing hotel,” Potrock said of himself and Cassandra.

It’s always a great day when I’m able to spend time in the resort getting to know our Cast Members. I met Cassandra when I stopped by Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. She was on the opening team for this hotel when it opened in 2001. We both agree it will be a “grand” day when we’re able to welcome back guests to this amazing hotel.

We can’t wait to return to Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa once it reopens in the future. If you want to book a trip yourself, you can do so for September 1 and after. We highly recommend working with an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner at Academy Travel, as well. They’re experts on all things Disney. Click here to book your trip to the Happiest Place on Earth!

We hope every Cast Member at Disneyland Resort continues to stay safe and healthy during this time. We wish you all the pixie dust!
