Last week, we reported that the Disneyland Resort website was only accepting new hotel reservations for August 16 and beyond. However, this evening we were informed that if Disneyland Resort hotel Guests with reservations currently booked for August want to modify their existing reservations, they can only rebook for September 1 and later.
A member of the Inside the Magic team with an August 1 reservation booked for Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa received a call from the Walt Disney Travel Company this evening. The Disney Travel representative stated that the August 1 reservation would be affected by the current closures of the hotels of the Disneyland Resort, and therefore the ITM team member could either cancel their existing reservation or rebook for a later date.
Even though the Disneyland Resort website is, at the time of this article’s publication accepting new hotel reservations for August 16 and later, the Disney Travel representative stated via phone this evening that as of today, new bookings for Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel can only be made for September 1 and beyond.
It is important to note that this does not indicate that the Disneyland Resort hotels will be open on or by September 1. This also does not indicate that the Disneyland Resort theme parks will reopen by that date. Disney has continued to reiterate that the reopening date for the hotels of the Disneyland Resort (the Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, or Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel) has not yet been announced. Disney also makes note that the reopening date for Disneyland or Disney California Adventure has not yet been announced, either.
The most up-to-date information on Disneyland Resort reopening can be found on the official website or in our article here.
Downtown Disney opened on July 9, marking the beginning of the phased reopening of Disneyland Resort. The shopping, dining, and entertainment district has been successfully welcoming Guests back ever since.
