As Walt Disney World gears up for its phased reopening beginning in just a few days — Magic Kingdom park and Disney’s Animal Kingdom will open the gates on July 11 — they are also slowly starting to open up other amenities as well. One of those being dining reservations!
But just this morning, July 7, it looks as though Disney opened up dining reservations for all Guests!
Above, you will see our attempt at making a reservation for July 11, which is the first day both Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be opened. Here’s what we found.
Prior to today, July 7, all guests were not able to make reservations at any restaurant. However, now we are seeing restaurants such as Tiffins Restaurant, located in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Be Our Guest Restaurant, located inside Magic Kingdom.

So now it looks as though ALL Guests, meaning not just those who are not Resort Guests, Guests with DVC Reservations or Guests with previously cancelled reservations, can now make reservations at Disney restaurants across property and within the theme parks.
Disney has since released a statement regarding the dining reservations saying:
Guests can take advantage of a 60-day booking window (beginning July 7) to plan meals and other experiences.
To help you plan, here are important updates to our food and beverage experience:
- In-Park Dining: Theme park guests will need valid park admission and a reservation for park entry through the new Disney Park Pass system, as well as a dining reservation for in-park, table-service restaurants for the same park on the same date. Dining reservations do not guarantee admission to the park.
- Disney Resort Hotel Dining: A confirmed dining reservation is required for day guests and reservations are highly recommended for guests staying overnight at a Disney Resort hotel.

Mobile Check-In
Disney is also encouraging mobile check-in for dining reservations, releasing the above infographic along with this statement:
Guests can also take advantage of the new My Disney Experience mobile check-in feature, which allows guests to bypass the line at the podium and check in for dining reservations at select Walt Disney World Resort table-service restaurants on their own mobile devices.
More on Disney World Reopening
Walt Disney World is planning on reopening in phases in just a few days — Magic Kingdom park and Disney’s Animal Kingdom will open the gates on July 11 while EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios plans to open on July 15. The Resorts on property also will be opening up in phases with each resort having a different reopening date.

Remember that when Disney World reopens to guests next month, things at the theme park will look a lot different. Social distancing measures will be put in place, excessive cleanliness, encouragement of mobile orders, plexiglass, and as we previously mentioned, the elimination of character meet and greets.
