Disney announced today that the Walt Disney Travel Company won’t be offering air transportation as part of Disney World, Disneyland, and Aulani vacation packages.
Below is the official announcement from Disney:
For arrivals beginning in 2021, Walt Disney Travel Company will no longer offer air transportation as part of its packages for Guests traveling to Walt Disney World® Resort, Disneyland® Resort and Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa.
This includes both consumer-direct and third-party bookings.
We will continue to make new airline bookings for travel through the end of 2020, and our teams will continue to service existing airline bookings at this time.
Note that Disney is continuing to work with Guests with existing vacation packages. If you have already booked your trip and it includes airline travel, you can continue to keep in touch with your Authorized Disney Vacation Planner or Disney directly in order to make sure everything goes smoothly once your travel dates arrive, as well as ask them any questions you may have about your upcoming trip, if you did add airfare as part of your vacation package.
Disney has not shared any more updates regarding any action that is being taken for Guests with 2021 vacations that were booked with airfare as part of their package, but we will be sure to update Inside the Magic when we know more information.
A lot of new information regarding 2020 vacation packages has also come out. Disney is currently reaching out to Guests with Disney World and Disneyland vacation packages that were booked for June and July, as resort operations will be different during the beginning phases of the reopening of Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort.
Currently, Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawai’i remains the only Disney Vacation Club Resort without any announced plans for reopening yet. We will update our website when Disney announces more information about Aulani.
