The Walt Disney World Resort has confirmed that Guests wishing to make a resort hotel reservation will still need a theme park reservation in order to gain access to the parks.
According to their website:
“Planning to visit a theme park during your stay? Select Walt Disney World theme parks will begin to reopen on July 11. To enter a park, both a park reservation and valid admission for the same park on the same date is required (a Disney Resort hotel reservation does not guarantee theme park access)
Disney World does make it clear, however, that the resort hotel reservation will permit guests to enter onto the property. In fact, hotel reservation confirmation is required upon arriving to Disney World property for all overnight guests. Guests visiting the mega-resort for the day will need to show either a theme park reservation or a confirmed dining reservation.
Guests staying at a Walt Disney World resort will also be without some well-known benefits. Specifically, they have suspended FastPass+–which allowed Guests staying on-property to secure FastPasses for their favorite rides much further in advance than other guests–and Extra Magic Hours–which gives Guests staying on property exclusive time in select Disney theme parks either in the morning or at night.
Disney World states on their website,
FastPass+ service will be suspended for the time being as we plan to use additional queue space to manage capacity for attractions and maintain physical distancing. With that in mind, access to FastPass+ planning is temporarily unavailable. We will share updates at a later date.
The Extra Magic Hours benefit is unavailable until further notice.
Other amenities will also be unavailable right as Disney World Resort Hotels reopen. Earlier today, Inside the Magic broke down what Guests should expect from the pools operating at limited hours and capacity, to the continued suspension of Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique locations.
On June 22, select Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground will reopen. These select Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts include:
