Disney World Park Reservation System Glitches

Walt Disney World’s theme park reservation system — called the Disney Park Pass — has not been live for more than 2 days, and would-be Guests staying at Disney Resort Hotels were reportedly faced with an onslaught of glitches that inhibited them from being able to make any reservations and cause the entire process to take several hours.

Inside the Magic has been keeping tabs on the glitches being reported by our readers. Here are some of the most common glitches found, and whether or not we have heard of a way around them.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Prohibiting October Reservations

Walt Disney World has made the decision to cancel Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party this year. But, it appears that Guests who had not canceled their Halloween Party reservations prior have not been able to make new Park Reservations for the same day as your original stay.

Park Reservations Limited

When one of our reporters–who is a Disney Vacation Club Member — went to claim park reservations for his two trips, he was only able to make reservations for his family’s July trip, but not for their December trip. The reasoning was that the Park Reservation System would not let him claim more than eight days of theme park reservations at a time.

Annual Passholders who have Disney Resort Hotel reservations have also found themselves to be limited to the three reservation limit for all Annual Passholders who do not have a Resort Reservation.

This was reported yesterday, but today appears to be resolved on My Disney Experience accounts as our reporter was able to complete the reservations for July, December, and Spring 2020.

Mismatch with the Availability Calendar

If you go onto the My Disney Experience website, you can see the days currently available for each of the four theme parks (click here to view the Disney Park Pass availability calendar). As of the publication of this article, only the following parks appear completely booked on the following days for Disney Resort Guests (though more availability will open up):

However, Guests are still reporting being told that there is no availability for theme park reservations in August and September. We would advise Guests booking their reservations to first ensure that they are searching in calendar marked for Disney Resort Guests, and to ensure they are in their booking window.

Your booking window is the same time frame as your resort stay is currently reserved.

Upcoming Guests are also commenting about how much easier it was for them to make their park reservation because they used expert help from a travel agency.
