Hong Kong Disneyland just announced their exciting news of a reopening date of June 18th; the second Disney Park to reopen their gates after the unprecedented extended closure of all Disney parks worldwide due to the current pandemic.
Disney has been following strict health and safety protocols to ensure a successful reopening of their properties. These have included temperature checks for all guests and cast members, mandatory face coverings, increased sanitation, social distancing, among others.
In Hong Kong Disneyland’s website, a new health declaration statement is required for guests to disclose prior to visiting the theme park. The statement asks guests the following questions:
- we do not have a fever;
- we do not have any respiratory symptoms;
- we have not travelled outside of Hong Kong in the past 14 days;
- we have not been in close contact with any confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the past 14 days;
- we are not under compulsory quarantine.
The website also has a link that will take visitors to a digital pamphlet with additional information you can read below:

Disney CEO Bob Chapek has said in past interviews that Disney is looking at the success of new protocols implemented in other Disney Parks, namely Shanghai Disneyland as the first one to reopen, to follow their lead.
Could this mean that guests visiting the Walt Disney World Resort when it reopens July 11th , or Disneyland Resort in California July 17th have to agree to a similar health disclaimer? No official announcement has been made to this end by Disney, however, with a similar liability disclaimer released with the reopening of Disney Springs, it would not be a reach to consider that possibility.
What are your thoughts on a disclaimer of this sort in order to visit the theme parks? Let us know in the comments!
