Well, good news for fans of Disney Pixar’s Up! and Disney’s Animal Kingdom as the latest update to My Disney Experience, the Walt Disney World app, has arrived and allows you to earn Wildnerness Explorer Badges from the safety of your own home!
Become like Russel, Carl and Dug as you learn all about becoming Wilderness Explorers from your phone.
It seems that today’s update is going to be the first of many in a series Disney is calling ‘Wilderness Explorers at Home’ where you can earn virtual badges by watching videos and taking part in activities.
All you need to do in order to take part in these new challenges is load up the My Disney Experience App. You will see the prompt directly from the home screen:

With many more lessons to come, we can’t wait to see what’s next from this new game within the My Disney Experience App. Who knows how many there will be until we get to Senior Wilderness Explorer?
Though personally I’ve never taken part in the Wilderness Explorer Handbook challenge at Disney’s Animal Kingdom (having not been to Walt Disney World with kids), I do get a bit jealous of other guests given how fun the challenges look to be. With my first kid on the way very soon, it’s only a few more years before they (and me) can take up the challenge and roam around Animal Kingdom to get all of the Wilderness Explorer Badges!
It’s great that Disney keeps adding to the MDE App on a regular basis. It helps to fill the gap with the Disney Parks being shut and we can’t wait to see what they do next!
