We’re missing the Disney Parks just as much as you are. But you can still get a peek inside the embankments and berms. High above the Resort, a Disneyland Tower Cam captures images from a Disneyland hotel rooftop camera. Nicknamed the “Mattercam,” after the Matterhorn Bobsleds ride, it peers into our favorite attractions and lands of Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure in the Anaheim/Los Angeles area.
It’s bizarre to turn our sound on and hear soft roar of passing cars, but no cheerings, attraction rollercoaster “Wheeeeeeeeeees!” or general Disney Park music. Initially, not a single person was present, but now and then you might see a Cast Member, giving us a feel of River Country’s graveyard back in Walt Disney World Resort. Check out the video feed of the Hojo Mattercam webcam below.
The Disneyland Howard Johnson Hotel Tower Cam
Captured above the Disneyland Resort, this feed is a LIVE rotating audio and video camera feed of Disneyland Park and Disney’s California Adventure. The rooftop of the Howard Johnson Anaheim Hotel provides location views of Matterhorn Mountain, Space Mountain California Screamin’, Mickey’s Fun Wheel, and Disneyland Park fireworks shows.
Sadly, in this time of closure, the Disneyland Area Tower Cam is showing the abandonment of the Happiest Place on Earth. Guests can tune in live, or review the last two hours or so of footage to get various views of the theme park.
If you’re looking for more YouTube content to enjoy, the blog of Tokyo Disneyland has announced a streaming selection of popular stage shows. Check out our article about the performances bringing magic to families stuck at home!
Meanwhile, the wind blows, the trees grow, and time passes in Southern California. Hopefully, we’ll be back at Disneyland soon, experiencing the upcoming Virtual Queues and stuffing our faces with Park Snacks. There’s even an article we wrote about Disney Snacks you can make at home, if you can’t wait to sate your palate!
There is still not a Disney World live cam that we can peer into while we are missing our dose of Florida Disney magic, but we can imagine what the goings-on are around Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the growing EPCOT center, and the magic around Magic Kingdom’s Cinderella castle. Perhaps we’ll get a look at Disney Springs from a local third party resort in the area, sharing the community WDW magic online from coast to coast!
