It’s safe to say that The Mandalorian is the best Star Wars-related show or film that has come from Lucasfilm since Disney took over. It would seem that they are going to be capitalizing on the success of the show for many years to come as rumors suggest they are planning at least a five-season arc.
It’s hardly surprising. Baby Yoda and Mando have taken the world by storm, which is impressive when you consider that for many, Disney+ technically isn’t out yet. Luckily I managed to breeze through much of the season when in countries that do have the service. A reminder that for our UK/European readers, Disney+ is only a few weeks away now!

Either way, Dave Filoni, Jon Favreau and the rest of the team have something special with this show and it’s easy to see how it could develop into another few years. We know that season two of The Mandalorian is on the way this year and given there’s already hints on where all of this is heading, it looks like we might end up seeing the birth of The First Order and The Resistance as part of the shows developing story.
It would also be interesting to see if the remnants of the Jedi Order are also present in future shows, we still hold our hopes high that Ahsoka Tano will be on of the Jedi to train ‘The Child’ in the ways of The Force.
So far The Mandalorian has blown us away. With directors and guest stars including Taika Waititi, Ming-Na Wen, and Bryce Dallas Howard, season two will only get bigger in scale. There’s hope we might even find out whether famous Bounty Hunter Boba Fett survived his encounter with the Sarlacc pit.
Disney has been on a continued string of success with Star Wars and the Star Wars Universe is growing even bigger with the Obi-Wan Kenobi and Cassian Andor shows currently in development for Disney+.
Even series creator George Lucas has hinted that he’s a fan of The Mandalorian. Star Wars fans have a lot to look forward to. Here’s hoping we find out more about Yoda and his species as we continue to follow Baby Yoda in the incredible first live-action Star Wars Series. There’s even a possibility it could eventually lead us to Luke Skywalker — now there’s a thought.
With the season finale leaving us wanting season two immediately, October can’t arrive soon enough!
