Personally, I was heartbroken when I found out that the iconic Great Movie Ride was being replaced at Walt Disney World Resort, but after all of these announcements, I am so excited to see what Disney Imagineers have in store for Disney guests come March 4, 2020.
The brand new, highly anticipated Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World Resort will open up on March 4, 2020 and we just found out some more news regarding the attraction! (The attraction will also be debuting in Disneyland Park in 2022).
The Composer for Mickey Mouse shorts, Christopher Willis, just tweeted out that a Potatoland themed song will play in the queue line for the Disney Parks attraction.

That’s right — The famous 13th episode of Mickey Mouse shorts will get a nod in the queue line of the upcoming attraction and I am completely geeking out!
Potatoland
Potatoland is the thirteenth episode of the new Mickey Mouse short series. Coming in at a lengthy 7 minutes long, Potatoland is notably “double-sized” because this episode aired on a very special date — November 18, 2013 — to celebrate Mickey Mouse’s 85th Birthday!
The episode follows Mickey, Donald, and Goofy as they travel to Idaho. Mickey and Donald go above and beyond to try and make Goofy’s dreams of a potato-land themed theme park come true. And just like the rest of the cartoons, expect lots of laughs and humor!

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
When Disney guests visit Disney’s Hollywood Studios to experience the new Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, they will be transported into a colorful cartoon world.
The Chinese Theater, which is where this new attraction will be placed, will serve as “the magic portal” so that Disney guests are fully emerged into Mickey and Minnie cartoons.
Disney Parks Blog describes the attraction as:
On this zany, one-of-kind adventure, expect the unexpected as you ride through the NEW Mickey Mouse cartoon Perfect Picnic! As you make your way to the “premiere” of Perfect Picnic in the attraction, you’ll move through the theater’s lobby and see whimsical posters of existing award-winning Mickey cartoon shorts created specifically for the attraction by Walt Disney Imagineering and Disney Television Animation.
If you are on the West Coast — Fear not because Disney guests will also be able to experience this attraction come 2022!
