Before the days of Disney+, the place to find quality Marvel TV Shows was ABC. The Disney-owned network gave Marvel fans unforgettable shows like Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Cloak & Dagger, and Agent Carter.
Now with the rise of Disney’s straight-to-streaming services and the end of Marvel Television, it seemed that we would no longer see Marvel TV shows on a cable network. But Kevin Feige proves otherwise, and it appears he’s currently working with ABC head, Karey Burke, to try and bring another Marvel show to ABC.
“We love our partners at Marvel and we’re sad to see [Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D] go, it’s been a big part of our history. We’re looking forward to working with Kevin Feige and we’re at the very beginning of conversations with him now about what a Marvel and ABC show might look like. Right now, Marvel’s focus has been on Disney Plus, as it should be.”
Burke also explained that before Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Cloak & Dagger finished their runs last year, she was already in talks with Marvel. She said ABC was looking for another female superhero, but those talks went nowhere.
Now in the new year, things appear to be looking up for the future relationship of Marvel Studios and ABC. But only time will tell if anything can come from it. One of the biggest pulls most likely to continue the corporate relationship is that ABC is a basic cable network, granting easier access to more people as compared to Disney+.
Every Confirmed Marvel Show is Set for Disney+
Still, as of now, every show we are currently expecting to come out of Marvel Studios will go to Disney+. That includes Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, Hawkeye, What If?, and WandaVision. Marvel’s Hero Project is the first Marvel show released, and it is already streaming on Disney+.
Do you think Marvel should continue to produce TV shows for ABC, or should every new show be on Disney+ or Hulu? Let us know in the comments!
